So after fives games this weekend, it's all over… JCBI wrapped up its season today with a second place finish at the Show Me State Games. And to get to the championship game they had to get through the Rippers, who finished 2nd at state a few weeks ago. And boy did they get through – beating the Rippers 7-1. Wow! The boys were pumped and poured their hearts and souls into that game. Unfortunately, to win it all they had to face the St. Joe Astro's and a win just wasn't in the cards. The Astro's are a 12U AAA team and a darn good one, with lots of USSSA points and tournament victories under their belt. It was hardly a fair contest, but that's how it goes sometimes.
Anyway, I'm proud of the boys. I think they surprised a lot of people. They worked hard and improved greatly over the course of the season. And my hat goes off to the younger players – they had a mountain to climb to keep up with some of these boys and climb they did! Ross, Erick, Brenden – awesome job boys!
Show Me State pictures are being posted, you'll find them here. There's about 90+ plus pictures in this batch so it'll take awhile before they're all uploaded. Still working on the Sizzler pics.
