It’s just my opinion, but after months of the “yes we can” silliness, it seems the honeymoon with Obama is about over. This Rev. Wright and Rezko thing just may be the one-two punch that’s hard to get up from. Certainly the Clinton’s won’t miss an opportunity to point out Obama’s ongoing lapse in judgment as inexperience.
I can’t help but believe the Rev. Wright angle is going to be an incurable cancer for Obama throughout the election process. I mean to attend a church for twenty years; to have it’s pastor marry you and your wife, to subject your children to the indoctrination of this church and then to disavow that church and its teachings… WOW!
It’s a creditability issue for Obama and his attempt to distance himself after twenty years makes him look just like every other politician we’ve seen for the last 50 years. We’ll have to wait and see how much of this sticks long term, but with a lot more mud slinging till the election, the teflon is starting to look pretty thin to me.
Update: Boy did I get that wrong… good thing I’m not a political consultant. I somehow always over estimate the attention span of the American people.
